Our process

A predictable path from idea to final walk-through.

01
Site review
We inspect the existing deck or porch, check framing condition, look at drainage and attachments, and talk through how you want to use the space.
02
Repair vs. rebuild plan
You'll get a clear recommendation on whether the structure can be repaired safely or if a full replacement is the better long-term investment.
03
Build and replace
We rebuild framing as needed, install new decking, railings, stairs, and exterior carpentry details, and keep the site clean as work moves.
04
Final safety walk-through
Before close-out we review railings, transitions, fasteners, stairs, and finish details so the completed deck feels solid, safe, and ready to use.

Deck Project 01 — Custom Pressure-Treated Deck Expansion with Accessible Wheelchair Ramp

Deck Project 02 — Composite Deck & PVC Railing Renovation for Childcare Facility

ESM Construction renovated the existing exterior decks, stairs, ramp, and railings at a childcare facility. The aging wood deck boards and railings were carefully removed while preserving the structural framing where appropriate. New low-maintenance composite decking and premium white PVC railings were installed across the front entrance, rear entrance, exterior stairs, and accessible ramp, creating a cleaner, safer, and more durable environment for children, staff, and visitors.

  • Removed existing deck boards and aged wood railings
  • Preserved and prepped existing structural framing

Deck Project 03 — Composite Deck Replacement & Structural Framing Upgrade

ESM Construction replaced an aging wood deck with a low-maintenance composite decking system while correcting structural framing issues discovered during demolition. Several floor joists had warped over time, so our team replaced damaged framing members, installed new structural components, and completed the project with premium composite decking and matching composite railing — delivering a stronger, safer, and more attractive outdoor living space.

  • Complete demolition of the existing wood deck surface
  • Inspection of existing framing and replacement of warped floor joists
  • Structural framing corrections with new pressure-treated members
  • Installation of new composite deck boards

Deck Project 04 — Expanded Composite Deck with Structural Framing Upgrade

ESM Construction completely rebuilt and expanded an aging pressure-treated wood deck. During demolition, we reinforced the existing structural framing, added new support posts and floor joists, and extended the footprint to create a larger, more functional outdoor living space with a consistent width. The homeowner selected low-maintenance composite decking paired with a traditional pressure-treated wood railing for a durable, attractive finish built to current standards.

  • Full demolition of the existing wood deck
  • Expanded footprint for a larger, more usable outdoor space
  • Structural framing reinforcement with new support posts and joists
  • Composite decking for durability and low maintenance
  • New pressure-treated wood railing per homeowner preference
  • Fascia, finish carpentry, and final cleanup

Deck Project 05 — Backyard Composite Deck Renovation with Surface Preparation

ESM Construction renovated an aging backyard deck while preparing the rear exterior of the home for a clean, refreshed finish. Before deck construction began, our team pressure washed the entire rear siding to restore its appearance. After removing the existing pressure-treated deck boards, we inspected the framing, reinforced and leveled selected joists, and installed premium composite decking — transforming the space into a modern, low-maintenance outdoor living area.

  • Pressure washing of the rear exterior siding
  • Complete removal of existing pressure-treated deck boards
  • Inspection of existing structural framing
  • Reinforcement and leveling of selected floor joists
  • Installation of new composite decking
